Queen Elizabeth the II visited Nuriootpa three times during her reign
The first visit was in 1954
This visit was part of the royal tour to Australia. There was a grand Royal Banquet held in the long room underneath the then Kaiserstuhl building in Nuriootpa that evening.
The second visit was in 1977
During this visit the Queen returned to the Barossa and visited Lindsay Park Stud near Angaston to indulge her love of horses.
Her final visit was in 2002
During this visit the Queen again delighted crowds of excited locals who gathered along the tour route in the hope of catching a glimpse of the much-loved monarch.
